ABOUT US

Bay Ridge Volleyball is a brand new indoor volleyball league in Brooklyn that started in the Fall of 2014.  We just completed our inaugural Fall season and I’m pleased to report that it was a successful one!

The Fall season was comprised of 4 teams in a mixed-skills league with a regular season and playoffs.  Along with regular season play, we were able to pepper in a few Open Plays that were also successful.  What stood out for me this past season was watching the more experienced players teach their beginner teammates, and then watching those beginners develop into better players.  It was truly awesome to see!

Winter is coming…

We are now about to embark upon our 2nd season – The Winter League.  It begins on January 8th, and will run every Thursday night thereafter for ~ 10 weeks plus playoffs.  Our goal for this 2nd season is to increase to at least 6 teams, if not 8 teams.  Again, this will be a mixed skills league in which the teams will be evenly broken up to maximize the competition.  We encourage folks to join as an individual AND as groups.  If you think you can put together your own team, that is also encouraged.

Our goals moving forward will be to continue with Open Play in addition to our Regular Season play.  We’d also like start Skills Clinics soon.  Ultimately, I envision us having multiple leagues broken down by skill level, women’s leagues and even clinics for kids.
